Last year we celebrated the International Year of Light in all its glory, in company of more than 500 youngest creative scholars and UV dancers who all together turned the ‘Light walk’ through Belgrade city center into pure enlightening experience.
This year we will focus our attention to explore core values of light, as well as to celebrate 160 years anniversary of important scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla. The workshop Shimmering 2016 will also officially launch Belgrade of Light’s long-standing ambition to establish the Mobile Laboratory of Light. A project, which aim to take us on a new journey of adventures and experimental studies of light.
Main inspiration for the Shimmering edition 2016 is found within the framework of the exhibition ‘Spectrum’. Under the guidance of curators from the Center for the Promotion of Science, children and youth will have unique opportunity to get substantial knowledge about colors of light spectrum, about electromagnetic wavelengths, how colors are created and how our eyes respond to the light of different colors. The ‘Shimmering’ will be traditionally organized in cooperation with educational institutions from Belgrade.
