KIDS WORKSHOP
Shimmering & Light Walk

In association with Belgrade educational and art institutions and teachers, a workshop program entitled Shimmering was proposed to schools, aimed at actively including children in the process of thinking about light and the future through educational stories and the making of creative lumino works using recyclable materials. The one-month workshops were attended by children in the following Belgrade elementary schools - Janko Veselinović, Vuk Karadžić, Kralj Aleksandar Prvi, Kneginja Milica, in the Artimedia high school and within the Piktum creative studio – an association for the study, research and preservation of old crafts in art. Workshop products were presented at the Light Walk, organized as a part of a broader international project entitled Urban Light Score Race which was supported by L-RO, the official partner UNESCO and by the marking of the International Year of Light. The UV Dance Serbia dance troupe was the event’s special guest, staging a light performance and leading the Walk. The Light Walk and a big Kišobran party by the DJ/VJ band at the GRAD Cultural Centre marked the closing of the 2015 Belgrade of Light Festival.
